Jonah had a birthday!!!

Jonah turned 1 year old on August 11th @ 8:57 a.m. Minnesota time...7:57 a.m. Wyoming time! We had a good day. A bunch of family came to our house, we had a BBQ and cake and ice cream and presents! In this picture Jonah is getting the Happy Birthday song sung to him...and he's not sure he likes it.


Jonah got a little cake all his own, and Graisen and Chase helped blow out the candles on the big-people cake. Not too long after this picture was taken, they both went into the back yard and released all the helium balloons they could get their hands on....then shortly after that they wanted them back!



Jonah took a half-hearted stab at his little cake. He was overwhelmed by the singing, but extremely under-whelmed by his cake. I expected we'd have to throw him in the tub after diving into his cake like his brother did at HIS one-year party....



....but this is the extent of his messiness...also the extent of his patience with his party. He'd had enough of whatever kind of fun everyone else thought they were having!



He did enjoy a toy phone he received. He puts it to his ear and says, "HA!". I'm assuming that's his version of "Hi", which is very cute. He also says, "Uh-oh" and "Dat" for (what's that?)...along with random mamamama, dadadada & nananana. Oh, and he points to the light and says something like "Ought". He's a genius.
